Moses continues the framework for renewing the covenant with God.

Moses transitions from expounding the stipulations of the covenant treaty through the 10 Words, to the close of his second address with a focus on a commitment to covenant faithfulness.

Moses expounds on Word Ten (5:18): “Do not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor desire your neighbor’s house, his field, his manservant, his maidservant, his ox, his donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

Moses expounds on Word Nine (5:17): “…Do not bear false witness against your neighbor.”
